#1 - You don't have to pack EVERYTHING.

the rooms inside your home; sort everything out first before putting the items
inside the boxes.
When
talking about sorting, you do not have to place everything inside the moving
boxes. After all, you don't want to place that figurine your ex gave you last
holiday season inside your new home, now do you? Well, it's not just about an
old figurine, old newspapers, old magazines that you're not going to use again,
or old clothes that won't fit you anymore - these items just take up a bunch of
space inside the boxes. So why not just give them to the garbage collector
instead and have them recycled? Or better yet, if the items can be used again,
why not donate them to charity?
#2 - Label a box/boxes that needs to be unpacked first.
If
there are things that are more important to take out of the box first, label
this special box (or boxes) to be "unpacked first." This way, you can
immediately take note of said container once you arrive at your new place. This
may be some tools to help with the
unpacking process. These could also be some toiletries (for *cough*
emergencies).
